How It Works

Year 1: Cover Supervisor with Training Support

September 2026 – August 2027

Begin your journey as a paid Cover Supervisor, gaining valuable classroom experience while participating in intensive teacher training.

What you'll do:

• Supervise classes and support student learning
• Observe experienced teachers in action
• Attend regular training sessions on lesson planning, behaviour management, assessment, and safeguarding
• Receive dedicated mentorship and coaching
• Build confidence and develop your teaching practice

What you'll earn:

• £22,500 – £26,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)
• Pension scheme
• School holiday entitlement

Year 2: Teacher Training to QTS

September 2027 – July 2028

Progress into formal teacher training while continuing to receive salary support. Complete your training and qualify as a teacher.

What you'll achieve:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by July 2028
• Continued professional development
• Permanent teaching position within our trust
• Launch your long-term teaching career

Academic Requirements

To progress onto teacher training in Year 2, you'll need:

Essential:

• A UK undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification)
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics

Additional Support:

• If you need to improve your English or Maths qualifications, equivalency tests are available
• Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses can be arranged if needed to strengthen your subject expertise

We'll support you throughout Year 1 to ensure you meet all requirements for teacher training.
