Salaried Teacher Training Programme

How It Works
Year 1: Cover Supervisor with Training Support
September 2026 – August 2027
Begin your journey as a paid Cover Supervisor, gaining valuable classroom experience while participating in intensive teacher training.
What you'll do:
- Supervise classes and support student learning
- Observe experienced teachers in action
- Attend regular training sessions on lesson planning, behaviour management, assessment, and safeguarding
- Receive dedicated mentorship and coaching
- Build confidence and develop your teaching practice
What you'll earn:
- £22,500 – £26,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)
- Pension scheme
- School holiday entitlement
Year 2: Teacher Training to QTS
September 2027 – July 2028
Progress into formal teacher training while continuing to receive salary support. Complete your training and qualify as a teacher.
What you'll achieve:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by July 2028
- Continued professional development
- Permanent teaching position within our trust
- Launch your long-term teaching career
Academic Requirements
To progress onto teacher training in Year 2, you'll need:
Essential:
- A UK undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification)
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics
Additional Support:
- If you need to improve your English or Maths qualifications, equivalency tests are available
- Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses can be arranged if needed to strengthen your subject expertise
We'll support you throughout Year 1 to ensure you meet all requirements for teacher training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
