The Future Teachers Programme offers an exciting route into teaching, allowing you to gain two years of valuable, salaried experience in a school before progressing to formal teacher training or a PGCE.

Location: Southampton
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: £23,000 – £27,000 per year
Hours: Full-time
Experience: Two years of salaried school-based experience
Progression: Salaried teacher training / PGCE

Your Two-Year Journey
Year One – Discover and Develop
Become part of a school community and gain an understanding of classroom life. You will develop your communication, organisation and classroom skills while receiving ongoing support.
Year Two – Build and Progress
Continue developing your experience and take on greater responsibility within the school. By the end of the programme, you will have a strong foundation from which to progress into formal teacher training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
