Graduate Teaching Pathway – Poole
Location: Poole
Start Dates: April or September 2026
Contract Type: Full-time
Progression Route: Classroom Experience → Salaried Teacher Training (QTS)

Are you a graduate considering a future in teaching? This opportunity in Poole offers a supported route into the profession, allowing you to gain hands-on school experience before progressing into a fully salaried teacher training position.
This pathway is ideal if you want to build confidence in the classroom and develop practical skills prior to committing to formal training.
Your First Year: Classroom Experience
You will begin your journey working in a secondary school as a Cover Supervisor, where you will gain valuable insight into day-to-day school life.
In this role, you will:
- Lead lessons using materials already prepared by teaching staff
- Support students to stay engaged and complete their work
- Manage behaviour and maintain a focused learning environment
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to support student development
This stage is designed to build your confidence—there is no requirement for lesson planning or marking.
Your Second Year: Teacher Training
Following a successful first year, you will move into a salaried teacher training position within the same school or trust.
During this stage, you will:
- Train towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Receive ongoing mentoring and structured support
- Gradually take on teaching responsibilities
- Have the opportunity to complete a PGCE alongside your training
This ensures a smooth transition from classroom experience into a fully qualified teaching role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
