Teacher (SEN) - September 2019 start - Oldham
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
The role commences in September 2019 and will be a permanent long term role. The role is for a qualified teacher who is looking for an opportunity to work in a specialist setting. The position is for a teacher who is looking for an opportunity to transition into SEN teaching. As an SEN Teacher you will work with pupils with a range of moderate and profound learning difficulties supporting them in achieving the best possible outcomes.
The setting is an outstanding Multi Academy trust which runs across 4 sites based in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
The role will involve planning and delivering lessons which are designed to support the optimal development of pupils with SEN. Due to the specific needs of the pupils we would be interested in Teachers who have a considerable amount of experience supporting children or young people with SEN. Please be aware that this can be working in a support capacity and does not have to be teaching experience. Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant would also be favourable.
The successful Teacher will be:
- Be able to adapt lessons to assure that learning is accessible to pupils with SEN
- Be able to establish and maintain working relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and the wider community
- Ideally Team-Teach trained (can be provided)
If you feel that you have the appropriate skills and qualifications to be considered for the post, please apply directly.
