Teacher (SEN) - Rochdale - October 2019 start

Full time position for an SEN teacher beginning immediately after October half term. The position is for an SEN teacher and is a full time post which will involve working 8.30am – 3.30pm. Initially this position is a maternity cover which will involve working until July 2020 but this could be subject to change dependent on school funding.

The setting is a special needs school and currently has 253 pupils on enrolled. The school caters for pupils aged 11-19 and who have a wide range of needs including: multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, social and emotional needs and mental health needs.  In its most recent OFSTED inspection the school was graded as ‘good’ with outstanding features  with OFSTED commenting that the pupils social and emotional development were particularly outstanding.

To apply for this position you must be a Qualified Teacher and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN. ideally the Teacher will have experience of working within a special school; however this is not essential as long as they can demonstrate a genuine passion and commitment for supporting pupils with SEN.

The ideal Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status with experience with SEN (professional or personal experience)

• A commitment to supporting SEN pupils in achieving their optimal potential

• An understanding of how to teach in accordance with the National Curriculum and P Scales
