Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Teacher on behalf of a Specialist Provision in Blackpool. The school caters for secondary aged individuals who do not thrive in mainstream education; many students who attend this provision have complex social, emotional, and mental health difficulties and may display challenging behaviours.

The school require a Teacher (with QTS) who is able to flexibly teach across the curriculum including vocational subjects. All planning will be provided if the subject that you are teaching is not your subject specialism. Many students are working below their age-related expectations and therefore require a curriculum which is differentiated to their educational health care plan. You will work alongside a Pastoral Team, Teaching Assistants, 1:1 Support Assistants and outside agencies to ensure the needs of each pupil are met.

A Teacher within this provision is a great chance to shape the future of students who need help re-engaging with their education. In this role, you will work with the most vulnerable students, enhancing their experience in lessons and in wider school life.

To be a successful candidate you must be resilient, nurturing and have an innovative teaching style. Many of the students who come to the school have large gaps in their learning because of poor attendance, the school needs to overcome these barrier whilst also helping the students grow emotionally, socially and personally.

Each child at the school has an EHCP, therefore, a teacher must be able to adapt their work to suit the individual needs of each pupil.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for the Teacher position are:

• Have a desire to work with children with SEMH

• Have a minimum of 6 weeks relevant experience

• Have an enthusiastic and motivated attitude

The pay for this role is £105- £160 per day depending on experience. ECT’s will also be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
