A large Bolton based Secondary school is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Science to cover a 12 month maternity leave from January 2020 or earlier.

Due to a permanent member of staff set to take maternity leave in the New Year, the Headteacher and Head of Science wishes to appoint a passionate, skilled and innovative Teacher of Science to join their highly successful department.   • Full time Teacher of Science, Bolton.
  • Required for 12 month maternity leave from January 2020 or earlier.
  • Must hold QTS alongside relevant degree level qualification within all disciplines: Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £24, 373 - £40, 490.

As the incoming Teacher of Science, you can expect to join a welcoming staff team within a well respected Secondary school. With just over 700 pupils on roll, aged 11-16, the school has been noted for its consistent quality of dynamic teaching and learning.

The responsibilities for the successful post holder will include but may not be limited to;

  • Expected to lead a full time table delivering inventive Science lessons; planning, preparing and evaluating all class work.
  • Effectively teach the National curriculum within the school's Teaching and Learning Policy.
  • Develop schemes of work, resources, teaching and learning strategies, contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of all pupils.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Bolton is easily accessible via the M61 and the surrounding areas; Bury, Preston and Wigan. There is also an abundance of public transport options readily available local to school with links across Greater Manchester.
