Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

We have been approached by one of our partner schools in Basingstoke, as they are looking to secure the services of a QUALIFIED RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHER, on a full time basis. This is a medium-term supply assignment, which will run for a period of four weeks, in the first instance. The post starts immediately and is working Monday - Friday, between 8.15am and with pupils leaving at 3.40pm.

You MUST be a genuine Religious Studies specialist who is able to offer the same levels of vigour, enthusiasm and passion for their subject to all groups, irrespective of ability or aptitude. The Headteacher is concerned primarily with securing the best teaching talent for their school.

The school is on the major transport routes (Bus, Train ) as well as being easily accessed by road and is only a short walk from Basingstoke City Centre. Religious Studies teachers from Reading, Winchester, Andover and Fleet may wish to consider this exciting opportunity.

The school boasts a highly effective SLT who are focused and determined in their efforts to drive teaching standards forward; applicants must be prepared to go the extra mile in order to improve the standings of the school in the eyes of the governors and OFSTED. The school caters for a mixed catchment area, but, attitudes to learning are always positive and the school has a particularly strong "on-call" team.

This role would be suitable for a more experienced teacher of Religious Education looking for a new, medium term supply role which could run until July 2019; or, a truly outstanding NQT who is looking to prove their worth in an environment where expectations are high. Candidates on the Upper Pay Scale are welcomed to apply, but please provide details of when you achieved your threshold qualification on your covering letter.

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be OUTSTANDING! (or strive to be!)
  • Hold UK QTS in Secondary Religious Education
  • Achieved via PGCE in Secondary Religious Education, B.Ed, SCITT, BA w/QTS, or other recognised route to Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have expert knowledge of recent curriculum developments

If you would like to be considered for this role apply today including your covering letter and CV and a member of the secondary team will be in contact to discuss the next steps.
