Teacher of Maths

Date posted : 05/07/19
£23720 - £39406 per annum

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Bolton based Secondary school is seeking to appoint a skilled Teacher of Maths on a full time basis from September 2019 due to a restructure within the Maths department. The successful Teacher of Maths will be a passionate, highly-skilled practitioner who can expect to be joining a highly successful department where full support will be provided.

If you are a passionate and inspirational Teacher of Maths seeking the opportunity to work within a dynamic Secondary school, build resilience in your pupils and improve teaching and learning, please see below for further information.

  • Full time Teacher of Maths required from September 2019.
  • Must hold QTS; applications are urged from both experienced and Newly Qualified Teachers.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23, 720 - £39, 406.

The incoming Teacher of Maths can expect to join a close knit faculty of four staff members including the Director of Mathematics. In previous years, the school has continued to see an upward trend within the department as pupils continue to exceed beyond their potentials against national averages. With over 90 % of GCSE pupils achieving above expected the school has been noted for its outstanding practice of teaching and learning.

The responsibilities for the successful Teacher of Maths will include;

  • To ensure all individual lessons are planned and prepared adequately including the appropriate use of relevant resources.
  • Adopt a forward thinking approach and plan lessons in line with schemes of work well in advance, in accordance with the national curriculum and departmental/school policies
  • Regularly set and mark appropriate work for pupils in order to assess their progression and understanding.

"Students' progress is measured rigorously, evidence of underachievement is identified quickly and effective support is provided. Teachers and support workers are appointed with great care; they are considered to be the most important resource the school has and are very well supported. Despite the considerable building work that has taken place in the last year, there are no signs that this has had a detrimental impact on students' experiences. There are high expectations of staff and students. As a result, much of what is seen as the norm in this school is outstanding."

Located just a few miles from Royal Bolton Hospital, this diverse Secondary school, is ideally situated to be accessed via the M61 as well as the surrounding areas; Bury, Preston and Wigan. There are also excellent public transport links readily available with access across Greater Manchester.

If you wish to be considered for this exciting Teacher of Maths position, then please send an up to date CV via the link below or contact the Manchester Secondary Branch for further information.
