Teacher of Geography- Leigh

Teaching Personnel have been approached by one of our Ofsted rated GOOD schools in the Leigh area to recruit for a Teacher of Geography to start from April 2018. This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Geography to join a school on its way to Outstanding.

This role will be to teach the Geography curriculum to Key Stages 3 & 4. The position is to start after the Easter holidays and is to cover a gap within the Geography department. This is initially a two term vacancy until December 2018 and there is also the potential of a fixed term/permanent contract being offered for the right candidate.

Overview;

  • Teaching Geography to Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Potential of a permanent contract
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant upon experience (£22,917- £38,633)
  • "The quality of leadership and management is good. They have a clear view of how successful the school can be."- Ofsted

Information about the school-

In its most recent Ofsted report, the school achieved a GOOD. Within the inspection, the pupil's behaviour and attitudes to learning were particularly highlighted as a strength. This allows for effective teaching to take place with minimal disruption across the whole school.

The Geography department consists of a dedicated team who strive to continually improve results year on year. The incoming teacher will join experienced teachers who work coherently to ensure Geography is a subject that pupils enjoy studying and make it accessible for all regardless of ability level.

The school is located close the East Lancashire Road near the areas of Tyldesley and Astley. This offers excellent accessibility to the surrounding areas with Ashton-in-Makerfield and the boroughs of Salford and Bolton only a short drive away.

The Senior Leadership team are looking to meet with any interested candidates at the earliest convenience. Therefore for immediate consideration please send an updated CV to Paul via the link below. Alternatively you can contact the Manchester West Secondary branch for further information.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
