Job Title: Food Technology Teacher

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Food Technology Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators in Hastings, UK.

Position Overview: As a Food Technology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate our students in the art and science of food preparation, nutrition, and culinary skills. You will play a crucial role in shaping the culinary talents and understanding of food technology of our students, fostering creativity, and promoting healthy eating habits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and activities that align with the curriculum, catering to students of various learning styles and abilities.
  • Instruct students in the principles of food safety, nutrition, cooking techniques, and food preparation.
  • Provide hands-on cooking and baking experiences, allowing students to explore a wide range of culinary skills and cuisines.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to ask questions, experiment, and develop their passion for food technology.
  • Evaluate and assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate food technology education into cross-curricular projects and activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, culinary innovations, and advancements in food technology to enhance the curriculum.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification or licensure in the UK (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Proven teaching experience in food technology or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety protocols, nutrition, and culinary techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and a dedication to inspiring students' love for food and cooking.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Innovative and adaptable teaching methods.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
