Teaching Personnel are actively recruiting for a Teacher of Design Technology to start as soon as possible in our high performing 11-16 secondary school within the Wigan LEA;

This role is to cover a long term absence and is expected to last until the summer term in the first instance.

To be eligible for this role you must be able to teach Product Design to GCSE and teach the full range of the Design Technology disciplines. This includes Food Technology at Key Stage 3.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a caring and dedicated faculty who strive for the best possible results year on year. The Design Technology subjects are very popular amongst the students who enjoy the interactive nature of the lessons.

In its Ofsted inspection at the start of this year, the school achieved 'GOOD' across all areas of the report making it an ideal environment for a teacher to progress in their career. The Headteacher was praised for continually raising the standards year after year and the support given to all staff. The pupils are respectful of each other and enjoy coming to the school. This is reflected in their engagement within the lessons and the positive ambience throughout the school.

Situated in Orrell, the school is on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from the surrounding areas; Skelmersdale, Chorley, Standish & Ashton-in-Makerfield.

Due to the urgent need to appoint someone, The Senior Leadership team are looking to meet interested candidates as soon as possible. Therefore, for immediate consideration please send an updated CV to Paul via the link below or contact the Manchester West Secondary Branch for further information.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
