The college is a vibrant sixth form college in Southampton whose core purpose is to provide full time education to students' ages 16-19. The college has exceptional facilities and offers a broad rang of subjects that students can study at A Level and vocational courses. Through outstanding teaching and student support, the college aims to raise aspirations and abilities for all of its learners.
The college is looking to appoint a Computing and IT Teacher from either Easter or September 2019. The College uses the OCR exam board at A Level. It is crucial that the successful candidate is able to teach programming and is confident in doing so. The department works closely with a University giving its students opportunity to visit and complete projects there. The successful candidate will:
* Have exceptional subject knowledge of the subject and curriculum for Computer Science
* Have an innovative and forward thinking approach to their pedagogy
* Be able to demonstrate best use of Assessment techniques to ensure students progress
* Be a collaborative teacher who shares best practice
* Have UK QTS with prior experience teaching the subject
The role is suitable for a NQT who has had experience teaching A Level throughout their training, or at interview can demonstrate that they are an excellent practitioner, a teaching wishing to move into FE or an already experienced Computer Science Teacher.
The College works with 9 other colleges across Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth in order to provide development opportunities for staff in order to not only support career progression but to ensure its students experienced in enhanced.
