Teaching Personnel are working with schools specialising in special needs across South Yorkshire and are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for a temporary to permanent role in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Applicants will be experienced in supporting students who can not access mainstream education in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
The successful Teaching Assistant would have experience with Autism and challenging behaviours and would possess the correct behaviours in order to support and re-engage students within a Primary or Secondary classroom setting.
Ideally, Teaching Assistants would have additional training such as Team Teach which advantageous however not essential. If successful you may be required to undergo a Team Teach Course. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills such as ex forces, sports coaches and youth workers.
Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
- 6 months experience working with SEMH and Autism
- Team Teach Trained or equivalent (e.g. PRICE/Studio III)
- Able to work within a team and has a positive outlook
- Patient and nurturing mannerism with excellent behaviour management skills
