Do you have experience or an interest working with young adults with autism, learning difficulties and medical needs?

We have an inspiring and challenging opportunity for support workers or those with relevant qualifications supporting young adults with autism, mental health and medical needs in a college in Hillingdon. Be part of collaborative college in Uxbridge that nurtures and supports the needs of their pupils and staff alike!

This is an amazing opportunity in Uxbridge where you will be able to strengthen your practical experience and understanding of how young adults with special needs are supported in education by working directly with these needs. Students range from the ages of 16- 22 years old with a range of needs including complex medical conditions, autism, severe learning difficulties and mental health.

The school are seeking experienced support workers, carers and those interested in special educational needs support assistant roles across in further education classes. Due to pupil developmental needs being trained or open to supporting with moving and handling and personal care (nappy changing/toileting) is essential.

Roles are to start from the 10th September 2019 for an academic year with opportunities to apply for permanent position within the school.

What would you need to secure this job?

  • MUST have experience as a Support Worker or working with children or young adults with special educational needs (physical disabilities, severe learning needs and mental health)
  • Must be interested in working with YOUNG ADULTS and confident in learning new skills
  • MUST live local to Uxbridge or in the borough of Hillingdon as there are accessible transport links
  • Commitment for regular work each Monday to Friday for an academic year (full time work)
