Support Worker - York
Teaching Personnel is working with a Client Special Needs School in York, to appoint a full time Support Worker to start as soon as possible. If you haave experience supporting children or adults with a range of additional and complex needs, we would like to hear from you!
The School:
- A special school for secondary aged students with a wide range of learning difficulties
- Students come from York, North Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire
- Ensures that students are at the centre of all that they do and deliver person-centred curriculums
- Works in partnership with parents and carers to best prepare students for adult life
- In their most recent Ofsted report, the school continued to be graded as 'Good'
The Job:
- To support young people with a range of special needs, including but not limited to, MLD, SLD, PMLD, SEMH, ASC, ADHD, SLCN and PD
- To provide person-centred care and help deliver specific interventions focussing on not only academic progression, but social and emotional development
- To work collaboratively with colleagues, outside agencies and parents and carers
- Support students with their personal care and welfare needs
- Be confident to work independently and have a flexible attitude to supporting young people with challenging behaviour
