Teaching Personnel are currently looking for teachers who may be interested in trying teaching within a special needs and mainstream setting for supply. Supply roles also have the potential to be longer term oppertunities.

In a specialist SEN setting you will have small class sizes allowing you to focus your attention on each individual student and support from LSA’s who tend to work 1:1 with each student in the class allowing you to make a real difference. We welsome mainstream teachers who have limited SEN teaching experience.

We provide an opportunity for Teachers to dip their toe in the water and see if teaching in an SEN setting is really for you. We already have strong relationships with SEN Provisions in your area and can support your transition from mainstream to SEN with flexible working, no need to commit to one school for the academic year and a range of specific CPD opportunities including behaviour management training (team teach).

In an SEN school you will not only be supported by the senior leadership team but also specialist within the school such as therapy, nursing and multi-sensory teams.

Children with moderate learning difficulties may appear immature and find it difficult to mix with their regular peer group. Many are vulnerable and may experience bullying as a result. Often they are needy with an over-reliance on adult help and support.

Pupils with MLD do not find learning and communicating easy and may display challenging behaviour if their needs are not fully recognised and understood.
