Supply Teacher
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Our clients are Calderdale based Secondary schools and together we are looking to recruit a number of supply teachers for September. After recent government guidelines there will be a very big need for additional staff in the schools for September. My workforce partners have a large cohort of over 8000 students. The perfect Supply Teachers will share the values and ethos of the school community, with a passion for quality teaching and a love of learning. It is important that the suitable candidates are able to create a happy, safe learning environment with the confidence and ability to develop confident and self-assured learners. We are looking for all teachers with QTS to come forward, recent graduates, part time teachers, recently retired. This is going to be a September like we have never seen before.
Your role as a Supply Teacher would typically be required for short-term teacher absences, either in advance or as ‘last minute’ replacements. However due to these guidelines we will be setting teachers up with a school and you will work as needed with that one school – we must control the numbers of new faces entering the schools in September. These schools are well-established in the Calderdale area.
Job duties could include, delivering pre-prepared lessons and the associated work, behavioural management of pupils, supervising work and adhering to school policies, dealing with immediate problems and emergencies according to school policies and procedures, collecting completed work and returning to appropriate teacher.
To be considered for this role, ideally you will:
- Have experience working with secondary age students in some capacity whether voluntary or paid.
- Be a recent graduate looking to continue your development within the education sector.
- Have flexible availability and be able to work within an ever changing environment.
- Have the ability to use public transport or have their own vehicle.
- Experience leading and delivering planned work to group of children aged 11+
- The ability to manage challenging behaviour
- A calm and punctual manner – excellent time keeping
- A fully enhanced DBS certificate on the DBS update service (can be applied for through Teaching Personnel)
Our clients are in Calderdale. They have easy access to public transport. They are also only a short bus ride from there respected city centres. We also offer excellent additional training in our own CPD academy to support professional development.
If this sounds like the ideal role to you, make sure you apply today by sending an updated CV to brian.hardie@teachingpersonnel.com from the Leeds Bradford Secondary Branch, and I will be happy to assist.
Do you know other great teachers or support staff? Refer them to us and reap the benefits of our referral scheme. We will pay you GBP50 for every person you refer to us once they have worked 5 days.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
