Sports Teaching Assistant

  • Location: York
  • Start Date: September 2020
  • Pay Rates: GBP9.50 to GBP10.50 per hour

Are you due to finish a Degree in Exercise Science or Sports Coaching this year? Are you looking to kickstart a career in education? Do you have experience of working with children? We have the perfect role for you!

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant for for full time worrk commencing in September 2020. The position will include responsibilities such as, but not limited to, delivering lessons to students not in Mainstream Education, acting as a Cover Supervisor in the absence of a Teacher and working as a General Teaching Assistant with both Primary and Secondary aged pupils. If successful, the role will continue as a long term position and has the potential to become a permanent position, working directly through the School.

An ideal candidate will have:

-A degree in Sports Coaching or experience in a coaching environment

-Behaviour management skills

-Team Teach training

-A nurturing approach

-Autism Awareness Training

-Knowledge of de-escalation skills

The School caters for students unable to access mainstream education and for those with moderate additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties and Social Emotional Mental Health needs. It is a large provision catering for students from EYFS up to Post 16.
