Are you a sports coach or recent sports graduate with an aspiration to teach?

We are currently working with a secondary school that is in the Wigan LEA who are now seeking to appoint an aspiring teacher to support them with lesson cover during the short-term absence of teachers.

This is a temporary role with immediate work available for the right candidate.

  • Sports Coach/Sports Graduate required on a full-time basis.
  • Required to start ASAP.
  • Temporary employment with a view to permanent employment later in the year.
  • Competitive pay rates available in line with your experience.
  • No experience required, complete training provided.

Cover Supervisors are given instructions for the lesson as provided by a teacher and the primary focus of the role will be to maintain good order and to help students to learn independently. Those with coaching experience are highly desired as are those who wish to pursue a career in teaching.

To be considered you will:

  • Have a proven track record of supporting classes.
  • Be educated to degree level and be an aspiring teacher of the future.
  • Be a quick learner with excellent communication skills
  • Have the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team when necessary.
  • Be an outgoing individual that can engage with all types of students.

Interested candidates will have the opportunity to attend Teaching Personnel’s ‘Become a Cover Supervisor’ course and will also receive state of the art training direct from experienced teachers who are employed by the school. (Candidates seeking flexible work are also encouraged to get in touch and will be able to attend our internal training program.)

This secondary school is slightly larger than the national average with approximately 900 pupils on roll. Located in the area of Hindley, the school is just a short drive away from the A577 and has an abundance of public transportation links to surrounding areas; Bolton, Salford and Wigan.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
