Job description

Sports Coach – SEN School (Chorley) – Full-Time

We are currently seeking a dedicated and energetic Sports Coach to join a specialist SEN school in Chorley, supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible, with an expected start date from 13th April.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in sports, coaching, or youth work who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs.

The Role:
You will be working closely with students with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, autism, and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve delivering structured sports sessions, promoting physical activity, and supporting students in lessons to help them stay engaged and regulated throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions
  • Support pupils within the classroom to aid learning and behaviour
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage participation and development
  • Promote teamwork, confidence, and resilience
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience coaching sports or working with young people
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
  • Able to commit to a full-time role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
