Sports Coach – Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor
Location: WN6, Wigan
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Up to £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only

A vibrant and supportive secondary school in the WN6 area of Wigan is looking for a confident, energetic, and proactive individual to join their team as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a sports or coaching background considering a career in education or behaviour support.
The Role:

Supporting students across a range of subjects and abilities
-
Stepping into classes in the absence of teachers to deliver pre-planned lessons
-
Using your coaching and mentoring skills to manage behaviour and maintain engagement
-
Assisting in PE lessons and extra-curricular activities where possible
-
Supporting individual students or small groups with focus, confidence, and teamwork
Ideal Candidate Profile:
-
Background in Sports Coaching, PE, or Youth Mentoring
-
Confident leading groups and maintaining positive behaviour
-
Strong communication, adaptability, and classroom presence
-
Interested in pursuing a career in education, PE teaching, or behaviour support
-
Experience working with young people in any setting is highly desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
