SEN Teaching Assistant

School: Specialist Secondary School for Pupils with SEND
Age Group: 11–16 Years

We are a well-established Local Authority Specialist Secondary School in Crosby, Liverpool, dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for pupils aged 11–16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Every student has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) tailored to their individual needs.
About the Role
As a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils achieve academically, socially, and personally. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you’ll assist in delivering an accessible and engaging curriculum, providing one-to-one and group support, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored support to pupils with SEND, helping them overcome barriers and reach their goals.
- Assist with lesson delivery and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom where every pupil feels valued and encouraged.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to monitor and review progress.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN or similar setting is essential.
- Empathy: A caring, patient individual committed to supporting pupils with SEND.
- Role Model: Able to inspire and encourage respect, confidence, and resilience.
- Team Player: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively with colleagues.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
