Location: Newport, Wales
Job Type: Long-term | Part-time or Full-time

Teaching Personnel is looking for passionate and motivated Sports Graduates or individuals with a strong background in physical education to join our partner secondary schools across Newport as a Sport Teaching Assistant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, support young people in their education journey, and use your enthusiasm for sports and fitness to inspire the next generation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers across a range of subjects, incorporating physical activity into daily learning.

  • 1:1 Student Support: Work closely with individual students who may be disengaged or require additional support.

  • Sport-Based Engagement: Use sports methods to help motivate students and create a positive, active learning environment.

  • Behavioural Support: Observe and encourage positive behaviours in the classroom.

  • Emotional Development: Provide emotional and social support to help students develop resilience and confidence.

  • Promote Health & Fitness: Encourage regular physical exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle throughout the school day.


Requirements:

  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to register.

  • An Enhanced DBS (Child Only) on the Update Service (we can assist with this).

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

  • A passion for education, physical activity, and student development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
