Teaching Personnel are working closely with an SEN school in East London. We are on the lookout for a Speech & Language Therapy Teaching Assistant. The ideal candidate will work within a class team and will have a key role in the implementation of programmes in the classroom.

This school has an Ofsted rating of “Outstanding” and has won awards due to it’s creative teaching approaches. They are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Young People. The school will provide extensive in house and external training, to help further develop your skills with the opportunity to obtain further qualifications in Language and Communication. There will be support and supervision from the Speech and Language Therapy Department.

 

The Role:

 • Develop and prepare visual materials for therapy and classroom sessions

• Work under supervision of a Speech and Language Therapist and a class teacher

• Provide effective support to less experienced colleagues, modelling good practice

• Keep written records of pupil observations

• Assist in provision of training to staff and colleagues

• Carry out general Teaching Assistant responsibilities

 

Details:

Salary: NJC Scale 4 Point 7-10 £29,412 - £30,771 Pro rata (Actual Salary Starting £25,412 to £26,586)

Start date: April 2024

Schedule: Permanent role - Monday – Friday 8:45AM – 3:30PM including one evening until 5PM & one evening untiol 4PM (35 hours per week)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
