We are seeking a dedicated, motivated, and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our school-based team on a permanent basis, providing vital support to pupils with a range of speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).

About the Role:
As our dedicated on-site Speech and Language Therapist, you will assess pupils’ speech, language, and communication needs and deliver targeted interventions tailored to individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and school-based support strategies. You will collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and families to create a communication-friendly environment where every child can succeed.
You will work with a varied caseload, including pupils with speech delays, language disorders, ASD, SEMH needs, and other developmental challenges. Your role will involve both 1:1 interventions and small group sessions, providing a holistic approach to improving pupils’ communication skills across the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify individual communication needs
✔️ Deliver evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions
✔️ Provide practical strategies to support speech and language development in classrooms
✔️ Contribute to EHCP reviews, reports, and target setting
✔️ Work collaboratively with teaching and SEN teams to embed communication support
✔️ Provide informal training and advice to staff to promote inclusive practice
✔️ Engage with parents and carers to support home-school communication
Requirements:
✅ Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
✅ HCPC registration (or working towards)
✅ Passion for working with children and young people in educational settings
✅ Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
✅ Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
✅ Experience supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, or complex communication needs is desirable but not essential
