Specialist Therapy Roles – SEN Schools (West Yorkshire)

Locations: Leeds | Bradford | Huddersfield | Halifax | Wakefield
Pay: £150 – £250 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

Are you a qualified professional with a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We are recruiting for several exciting school-based specialist roles across West Yorkshire, including:

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Speech & Language Therapists

  • Physiotherapists

  • Moving & Handling / Manual Handling Trainers

You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team within specialist and inclusive school settings, supporting pupils with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, PMLD, and physical or communication difficulties.

The Role:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group therapy and intervention sessions.

  • Develop and implement individualised care or therapy plans tailored to each child’s needs.

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to embed therapeutic strategies into learning.

  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safe handling, communication techniques, and adaptive strategies.

  • Monitor progress, write reports, and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.

Requirements:

✅ Relevant professional qualification (HCPC, RCSLT, or equivalent registration)
✅ Experience working with children, young people, or in school/SEN settings
✅ Strong understanding of sensory, physical, or communication needs
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
✅ Full-time availability (term-time only)

Desirable:

  • Training in Sensory Integration, Makaton, or Moving & Handling

  • Driving licence and access to own transport

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
