Job Advert: Supply Teaching Assistant – Neath & Port Talbot

Location: Neath & Port Talbot
Contract: Part-time & Full-time (flexible to suit your availability)
Start Date: Ongoing

Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated Supply Teaching Assistants to work across Secondary Schools and Additional Learning Needs (ALN) settings in the Neath & Port Talbot area.

This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a wide range of needs, including ADHD, ASD, behavioural challenges, and other additional learning needs.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour.

  • Provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs.

  • Help pupils develop confidence, social skills, and independence.

  • Ensure the safety and safeguarding of all students in your care.

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting young people (in schools, care, youth work, or similar settings).

  • A good understanding of additional needs, including ADHD, ASD, and SEMH.

  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

  • The ability to manage behaviour positively and calmly.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices (training can be provided).

  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable due to school locations.
