Teaching Personnel work closely with a Primary special needs school who are looking to take on a Teaching Assistant long term January start!

The School

This catholic school provides an alternative education to children with diagnoses of conditions such as Autism, Downs Syndrome, genetic conditions and medical needs who need specialised support from Teaching Assistants, but are able to independently get through a large part of their day to day life and education. The school hope to take on their Teaching Assistant on a permanent basis by the end of the school year.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant you have the opportunity to make a profound difference to a student’s day to day school life by providing emotional, behavioural and educational assistance. Your responsibilities will include;

  • Classroom support - activities, organisation, engagement
  • 1:1 support with occupational therapies
  • Behaviour management
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing
  • Social and communication assistance
  • Supervisory duties
  • Record/log keeping and completing student diaries

To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant you need;

  • Experience supporting special needs
  • Experience with children (preferable)
  • Experience in education/ school environment (preferable)

Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered).

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.


  • Payment in house, meaning no fees from Umbrella companies
  • GBP10.50 an hour or above
  • 13 weeks off per year
  • A dedicated consultant to discuss current or future roles with you
  • An extensively discounted CPD program

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
