Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) – Specialist SEN Secondary School

Location: Farnborough
Hours: Full-time
Pay: £13.75 per hour

We are pleased to be recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join a supportive and well-established specialist SEN secondary school in Farnborough. This setting supports young people of secondary school age with a range of special educational needs, providing a structured and nurturing environment that promotes independence, confidence and personal development.

This role is well suited to individuals who are passionate about supporting adolescents and helping them develop the skills they need for learning, communication and life beyond school. Applicants from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with full training and ongoing support provided.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting secondary-aged pupils to engage with learning and manage the social, emotional and academic challenges of adolescence. Working closely with teachers and specialist staff, you will provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils within a specialist SEN secondary setting

  • Assisting with personalised and differentiated learning activities

  • Supporting communication, sensory needs and emotional regulation

  • Encouraging independence, resilience and positive behaviour

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff

  • Helping to maintain a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment

About You

We welcome applicants from all walks of life. You may already have experience supporting young people with SEN, or you may be looking for a meaningful career change where your transferable skills can make a real impact.

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have a genuine interest in supporting young people with autism, learning difficulties or additional needs

  • Are patient, resilient and adaptable

  • Communicate confidently and work well as part of a team

  • Have experience in education, care, youth work, health, psychology or similar roles (helpful but not essential)

  • Are motivated to learn and develop within a specialist SEN environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
