Special Needs Teacher
Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a passionate Teacher to support a special provision for SEND in Rochdale. The school has young people from the ages 11 – 18, which have complex needs involving autism, pragmatic language and combination of physical, sensory, cognitive and communication difficulties. The school has a wide range of different facilities and equipment that help support their pupil’s regulation and engagement in different provisions.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised lessons and interventions supporting the needs to each pupil
- Be confident in working collaboratively and leading a team of teaching assistants
- Monitor, track and regularly provide feedback regarding pupil’s progress
- Advocate a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Regularly meet with schools SENCO staff and other teachers to develop individual learning plans
- Promote independence and social, emotional and academic achievements
- Regularly communicate with parents, carers and external agencies to provide a holistic approach
Essential Requirements:
- Be a fully qualified teacher with QTS and PCGE
- Have experience working with special needs in another role where skills are transferable
- Be comfortable adapting your teaching to be inclusive to all students
- Be confident in leading a team of teaching assistants
- Be able to provide feedback to relevant school staff and parents
- Be available full time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
