Learning Support Assistant – Specialist Education Setting

Location: Farnborough, Hampshire
Hours: Full-time | 9:00am to 3:30pm | Term time
Pay: £13.75 per hour | Temp to perm, with a salaried role available

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Farnborough area, supporting older primary to early secondary-aged pupils with moderate and severe learning difficulties, complex needs and autism.

The school provides a structured, calm and supportive environment, with a strong focus on communication, independence and personalised learning. This role is well suited to an experienced Learning Support Assistant, but applications are also welcomed from candidates with transferable experience from childcare, care, health, youth work or other support-based roles.

The role involves:

  • Supporting pupils in class and on a one-to-one basis

  • Helping pupils engage with learning, routines and daily activities

  • Working closely with teachers and the wider staff team

  • Contributing to a safe and consistent learning environment

We welcome applicants who are:

  • Experienced LSAs or individuals with relevant transferable skills

  • Calm, patient and professional in their approach

  • Interested in supporting pupils with complex learning needs and autism

  • Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team

Safeguarding

All applicants must hold an Enhanced DBS for the Child Workforce on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within specialist education, with a clear temp-to-perm pathway and the potential for a salaried school role. Applications are welcomed from candidates across a range of relevant backgrounds.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
