The Role
As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) focused Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in providing the best support possible to students aged 7-16 years old who struggle to thrive in mainstream settings due to emotional, social, or developmental challenges.
The school supports pupils who have experienced disrupted education and present with:
- Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Anxiety and behavioural challenges
- Communication and social interaction difficulties
- Other SEND profiles requiring a nurturing, structured environment
The school’s purpose-built campus features specialist teaching rooms, a learning resource centre, sports facilities, wide corridors with natural light, and calming, accessible spaces designed to support emotional wellbeing.
This environment, combined with a broad curriculum that includes core academic subjects and social/emotional development, helps pupils build confidence, academic progress, and readiness for reintegration into mainstream settings.
Who We Are Looking For
- SEN / SEMH experience in or out of an educational setting
- Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
- Understanding of challenging behaviours
- Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
- Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
Working Hours / Benefits

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
