SEN Teacher – Northampton

 

Location: Northampton

Salary: £140-£170 per day (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (may vary by up to 45 minutes)

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Northampton. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored lessons to pupils with SEN in line with individual learning plans.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group instruction where necessary.

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure pupil progress.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals.

  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress regularly.


Who We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)must

  • Experience supporting or teaching children with SEN/SEMH needs, or a strong interest in doing so.

  • A kind, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs.

  • Full-time availability.

  • Proactive attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Permanent UK residency – essential.

  • Willingness to obtain or already hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

  • Two recent professional references (from within the last 24 months).

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a specialist SEN setting.

  • Training in de-escalation or behaviour management (e.g., Team Teach).
