SEN Teacher – Primary or Secondary

Full-time or Part-time | Permanent | Term time only
Salary: Paid in line with the Teacher Pay Scale (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)
Location: Farnborough

We are seeking experienced and dedicated teachers to join a specialist setting in Farnborough, supporting primary or secondary-aged pupils with complex needs. The Role

The successful candidates will deliver high-quality teaching to pupils with complex needs within small class settings. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering personalised, well-structured lessons that meet individual learning needs

  • Supporting pupils with a range of complex educational, communication and emotional needs

  • Creating a calm, consistent and nurturing learning environment that promotes engagement and progress

  • Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches accordingly

  • Developing strong, professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues


The Pupils

Pupils are educated within a specialist setting designed to support children and young people with complex needs. Teaching is delivered in small groups, with a strong emphasis on consistency, structure and individual progress, supported by close collaboration between education and therapy teams.


Person Specification

Applicants will demonstrate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience of teaching within any educational phase or setting (all teaching backgrounds considered)

  • A strong commitment to inclusive practice and meeting the needs of pupils with SEND

  • The ability to adapt teaching strategies to support a wide range of learning needs

  • A calm, reflective and resilient approach to teaching

  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills
