Job Description
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a qualified and dedicated Secondary SEN Teacher to join one of our partner specialist secondary schools in the Cosham area. This role is ideal for teachers with experience supporting young people aged 11–16 with a range of additional learning needs and complex needs.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering inclusive, differentiated lessons to secondary-aged pupils with special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD).

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP outcomes.

Adapt curriculum content to meet the needs of secondary learners working at a range of academic levels.

Create a structured, positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teaching assistants, therapists, and parents/carers.

Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to review meetings.

Support students’ social, emotional and behavioural development, promoting independence and resilience.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

Experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally within a secondary or specialist setting
-
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and effective differentiation strategies
-
Confident behaviour management skills suited to a secondary SEN environment
-
A proactive, patient and empathetic approach
-
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
