Special Needs Teacher
Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teachers to work within specialist provisions in the Portsmouth area. The schools that we work with cater for Primary and Secondary puils, most of whom will be working to below Age Related Expectations.
The Role:
You will be teaching pupils with a variety of moderate to complex additional needs, which may include:

Autism (ASC)
-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
-
Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
-
Communication and interaction needs
- Physical needs
You will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that are tailored to individual learning plans, supporting pupils’ academic progress as well as their personal development.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Have experience working within an SEN or specialist setting
-
Be confident adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
-
Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
-
Be patient, resilient and committed to inclusive education
Role Requirements:
- Must have a current QTS
-
Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced Child only DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one

Recent, relevant teaching experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
