Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working with a school who facilitate learning for pupils who struggle to access mainstream education. The pupils within the setting have a variety of needs and abilities, which require 1:1 support to ensure they are achieving as much as they can access. The roles are full time ongoing, term time only, working from 8:30-3:30.

As previously explained, the roles are supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis. However you are not always based on site. The children partake in different extra-curricular activities that require leaving the site. This means that the ideal candidate must be able to drive with access to their own vehicle daily.

The ideal candidate for this role must have experience of working with children and young people in or out of education. Candidates must have GCSE in Maths and English A-C and one of the following:

  • BTEC, CACHE, NVQ Level 3
  • Foundation Degree
  • Degree
  • Masters Degree
  • Apprenticeship level 3
  • HLTA

All candidates must have a DBS in Child work force which is registered on the update service. If you do not have a current DBS then do not worry as we can support you through the application.
