Speech, Language and Communication Teaching Assistant required for Primary School in Wilesden

  • £60+ per day, depending on experience
  • Opportunity to work in an ambitious and supportive Primary School
  • Full-time position, term time only

Do you have experience supporting young children who have speech, language and communication needs? Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity that is challenging but rewarding at the same time?

Teaching Personnel are recruiting 2 x Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting children who have speech and language communication needs on the behalf of a client school located in Wilesden. This is a two-form entry Primary School that is approximately 7 minutes walking distance from Wilesden Green underground station. The school has a vibrant and nurturing atmosphere that is used to encourage children to develop self-motivation and a sense of personal worth. lt prides themselves on delivering high quality lessons and the pupils are constantly challenged to attain higher standards.



About the Role

You will work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups with SEN children who have been identified with SLCN. This also includes monitoring their progress and providing feedback to the SENCO and their parents.

The ideal candidate will:

*Have at least 6 months experience supporting children with speech and communication needs at varying levels

*Be patient and sensitive with the ability to encourage and motivate children

*Be trained in Makaton and/or PECs

*Have a valid DBS that is registered on the update service or willing to complete an application
