We’re Hiring: SEND Teaching Assistant (Early Years) – Stockton

Are you a nurturing, resilient and confident SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for Early Years? A welcoming primary school in Stockton is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child in Early Years who presents challenging behaviour.

Location: Stockton
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Role:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support within an Early Years setting

• Supporting a young child with SEND and challenging behaviour

• Helping to develop emotional regulation, communication and social skills

• Supporting learning through play-based and structured activities

• Implementing behaviour strategies consistently and positively

• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team

• Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive Early Years environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with Early Years children and SEND

• Confident supporting challenging behaviour in a calm and patient manner

• Understanding of Early Years development and behaviour strategies

• Able to build strong, trusting relationships with young children

• SEND or TA qualifications are desirable but not essential

• Caring, reliable, proactive and a strong team player

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
