SEND Teaching Assistant – Full Time - Exeter, Devon

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? Teaching Personnel is offering an exciting opportunity to join our partner school in Exeter, working within a specialist SEND provision.

Job Details

Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience) + travel expenses

About Our Partner School
Our partner school in Exeter provides personalised education for students with complex needs, including those with EHCPs. The school offers a bespoke learning experience with one-to-one support, using a trauma-informed approach to help students achieve their potential.

The curriculum focuses on core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science, alongside PSHE. Students participate in both on-site lessons and community activities, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support for students with SEND within a trauma-informed setting

  • Work closely with teachers to implement and adapt personalised learning plans

  • Create a safe, nurturing environment to support students’ emotional and social development

  • Adapt resources and activities to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students

What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for supporting young people with SEND

  • Experience in education or care (preferred but not essential)

  • Strong communication skills, patience, and resilience

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car

  • GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent
