SEND Support Roles – Make a Difference in East Sussex Schools

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a range of SEND support roles across East Sussex, working with pupils who may struggle in mainstream education and benefit from a more personalised, relational approach.

These roles are ideal for people who are confident, patient, and motivated by helping young people feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

What SEND Support Work Looks Like:

  • Supporting pupils with learning, behaviour, and emotional needs

  • Helping young people regulate emotions and engage in lessons

  • Offering structure, reassurance, and positive reinforcement

  • Working alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral staff

  • Adapting approaches to meet individual pupil needs

No two days are the same — flexibility and resilience are key.

This Could Suit You If You Are:

  • Calm under pressure and emotionally resilient

  • Confident working with children or young people

  • A clear communicator with a supportive approach

  • Interested in SEND, SEMH, or alternative education

  • Looking for meaningful, hands-on work

We welcome both experienced SEND practitioners and those new to SEND with the right attitude.

Additional Information:

  • Child-only DBS on the Update Service preferred (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
