SEN Support Assistant – West Yorkshire

Daily Rate: £90–£105/day | Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm Available

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable SEN Support Assistant to join schools and specialist provisions across West Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the right training and experience to make a real difference to children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The Role:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and SEMH needs.

  • Deliver 1:1 and group support, helping pupils access learning and develop social and emotional skills.

  • Assist with moving and handling and provide personal care where required.

  • Use specialist communication techniques, including Makaton (desirable), to support children’s language and interaction.

  • Help manage behaviour using positive strategies – Team Teach training is desirable.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential).

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification (desirable).

  • Moving and handling and personal care experience (essential).

  • Knowledge or training in communication techniques (Makaton, BSL desirable).

  • Team Teach training (or willingness to undertake).

  • Full-time availability and a commitment to consistency.

  • Driving licence and own transport (essential, due to location flexibility).

  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
