SEND Tutor – Full-Time – September Start – Crediton, Devon

Pay: £110 - £130 per day
Hours: Full Time (Monday - Friday)
Location: Crediton, Devon – Fully Outdoor Setting

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed SEND Tutor to join an outdoor-based education provision from September. You will work with KS2, KS3, and KS4 pupils with a range of needs, including SEMH, ASD, Complex Needs, and PMLD. All sessions take place outdoors, using nature and practical activities to inspire learning, build confidence, and encourage personal growth.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in creative, non-traditional learning environments. No planning is required – all lesson content and resources are provided. Your focus will be on delivering engaging sessions, building positive relationships, and helping students make academic and personal progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in an outdoor learning environment
  • Teach in small groups, adapting to individual needs
  • Support students’ emotional, social, and academic development
  • Encourage life skills, teamwork, and resilience through nature-based activities
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning space

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Experience working with KS2–KS4 SEN learners, particularly SEMH and ASD (preferred)
  • Passion for outdoor learning and alternative education
  • Patience, creativity, and strong communication skills
  • Resilience and the ability to work outdoors in all seasons

Qualifications & Training

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs grade A–C or equivalent
  • Willingness to undertake training as required

Desirable:

  • Outdoor/Forest School-specific paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Safeguarding
  • Level 3 Forest School Leader
