Have you experience of supporting those with SEN?

We are looking for tutors to work with pupils with additional needs not currently in a school.

The role involves supporting pupils either at home or within a community space (such as a library). These pupils may have been diagnosed with a variety of needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH. As a result, these pupils may have been recently excluded from a mainstream school and are in need of education and support while they await placement at a specialist provision.

Your role would involve the support of these young people and will be often based around Maths and English alongside additional emotional support such as increasing confidence and building rapport. You will also have the option to increase your working hours dependent on the number of pupils you are able to take on as individual pupils are often seen for 2 hours a day, five days per week.

The ideal tutor would have:

  • Teaching/Tutoring Experience
  • Experience with working with those with SEN
  • Patience and determination
  • Evidence of creating own resources where required.

The pupils will be used in either homes or schools in the Trafford area which has extensive transport links by road bus, tram and train.

To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.

Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 09:00 -16:00 approximately.

Benefits of working with Teaching Personnel:

  • Payment in house, meaning no fees from Umbrella companies
  • GBP20-25 an hour or above
