Job description

Empower Young People Through Learning – SEN Tutors Required in Southampton

TP Tutors is seeking dedicated SEN Tutors in Southampton to provide personalised educational support for children and young people who require additional learning assistance. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping learners grow in confidence and achieve their individual goals.

Role: SEN Tutor
Location: Southampton and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities

About the Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will work directly with students in one-to-one settings, delivering lessons tailored to their specific educational and emotional needs. Sessions may take place in homes, community settings, or alternative learning environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised tuition sessions
  • Support learners with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, anxiety, and other barriers to learning
  • Adapt lesson plans to suit individual learning styles and abilities
  • Encourage student confidence, engagement, and independence
  • Develop positive working relationships with learners and families
  • Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies where necessary
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning atmosphere

About You

  • Experience working with children or young people is advantageous
  • Backgrounds in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, care, or youth support are welcomed
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Patient, understanding, and adaptable approach
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
  • Ability to travel across Southampton and nearby locations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
