Exciting Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Northampton
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Term time only)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (may vary by up to 45 minutes)

About the Role

Join a welcoming and inclusive school in Northampton as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will provide vital support to children with special educational needs, working closely with them both inside and outside the classroom.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering 1:1 or group support to pupils with SEN
  • Assisting learning during lessons as well as during break and lunchtime
  • Supporting the class teacher with daily activities
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment
  • Helping create an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere for all students

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous school experience—we welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are enthusiastic about supporting children. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have some experience working with SEN children (desirable, but not essential)
  • Be committed, patient, and reliable
  • Show initiative and a proactive attitude (essential)
  • Have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (via the Update Service)
  • Hold permanent UK residency (essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
