SEN Teaching Assistant Required

The head of a client special school in Aberdare is looking for a strong and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to become a member of a collaborative and supportive staff team. The successful candidate will join the school in ensuring all of the pupils work successfully towards greater independence and a meaningful place in the community.
Ideally the applicant will have experience working with pupils with a range of diagnoses and learning needs. They will preferably have led a range of directed interventions and have experience of leading other members of support staff.
The work requires exceptional team working skills and an understanding of the many different ways pupils with SEN can be supported to reach their potential. Team members are expected to act upon their own initiative, manage their own time effectively and proactively contribute to innovation within the scope of their role.
You will need to have experience of:
- working with young children with a diagnosis of ASD
- implementing specific teaching programmes for speech and language and occupational therapy
- ensuring successful integration of pupils into the mainstream classroom
- working successfully as a member of a team
