SEN Teaching Assistant - PMLD

Teaching Personnel Plymouth is currently working with a SEN primary and secondary school situated in Plymouth, catering for children with PMLD and other complex needs.

The school have an opportunity for a teaching assistant to start in September 2019 for a full-time role, term time only. In the first instance the role will be until December 2019 with the potential of being extended into a permanent contract for the right candidate.

If you are looking for a new role within education, this could be the opportunity for you! Having the following qualities, experience or being open to carrying out the following duties would be beneficial for taking on the role at this school:

  • Previous experience of supporting children with PMLD/ASC in either a mainstream or SEN school
  • Must have has experience supporting 1:1 or small groups
  • Educated up to NVQ Level 3 or degree level
  • Training in PECS/ Makaton/BSL/MAPA/Team Teach/Moving and Handling
  • Nurturing attitude
  • Calm and patient manner

To work with Teaching Personnel you will be required to pass our vetting process. This involves having a child workforce DBS registered to the update service, being able to provide a full career history for at least the last 6 years and being able to provide excellent references from your two most recent employers. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of ÂŁ44, plus an annual subscription fee of ÂŁ13 for the Update Service.
