  • Ofsted rated 'outstanding’ SEN school
  • South Croydon, from September 2021 onwards

This job would be suitable for anyone with experience of working in care, in an SEN school, using hoist equipment, or anyone with moving and handling training.

I am working with a large SEN school that caters for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, including moderate to severe autism. They are looking for care workers who would like to be their ‘bank staff’. This means you will be called for work when needed by the school. The school works with all ages including nursery, primary and secondary children. This could be mornings, afternoons, full days, or lunch cover (12:10-13:40.)

  • This kind of work is particularly suitable if you are looking for part time work
  • Work may be available up to 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, term time only
  • School hours: 8.45am – 15:30pm

It would be beneficial if you have experience of working with children who have severe special needs, however if you have worked with adults and would like to move into working with children you may also apply. You must be willing to provide personal care.

Relevant training in Makaton, PECS, moving and handling, first aid, multi-sensory impairment or safeguarding is desirable. Once registered with Teaching Personnel you will be eligible to book yourself onto any of the training courses that we offer, which will either be free or at a reduced cost.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken an enhanced CHILD WORKFORCE only DBS, or be willing to apply for a new one as soon as possible.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
